Founding Fathers and mothers
Charles and Alison HEWITT purchased the land at 29 Sunny Banks Road, Middleton in 2003 from the De Salis family of Sunny Banks house. In the same year established Resolution Vineyard, planting 1800 vines consisting of three clones of Pinot Noir grapes. Charles and Alison live in England and entrusted the care of the property and vineyard to Alison's parents Peter and Helen Brown.
The Vineyard is on a north-facing slope in the cool climates of southern Tasmania. The first vintage commenced with the 2007 Resolution Pinot Noir and has continued to produce award winning, quality wines made by Frogmore Creek in the Coal River Valley, Tasmania,.
Changing of the guard
On Friday 3rd February 2017 we, Daniel and Caroline excitedly took over the reigns of Resolution Vineyard under the continued guidance of Peter.
Our short story......
Resolution Vineyard was the last stop on our Open Wine weekend tour of the Channel in 2011,
Purchased the last bottle of 2008 Pinot from Peter. Standing on the deck sampling the pinot we both stood in silence admiring the stunning and truly spectacular views,
We agreed it would be the perfect place to get married (we had been looking),
Peter and family kindly agreed to entrust us with their property for our ceremony and reception. We were married at Resolution Vineyard in February 2012,
We continued to help at harvest time and stayed in touch,
Peter mentioned the family were planning to sell the property,
Decided to take the plunge and put dreams into reality,
