Slow news year

So 2022 was a pretty slow news year, infact it was an non-existent news year after the Scarecrow Competition and Middleton Green celebration- which might I add was an FANTASTIC event.  Enjoyed by all, young and old. If you missed it, make sure to get along to this years event, now scheduled for Saturday March 18th.

The birth of our baby girl Maggie in late 2020, school commitments, work life, scarecrow reassembling, sheep and general vineyard duties has kept us all rather busy with not much time left for sitting behind a computer.

Southern Open Vineyards weekend in March was glorious. The event is going from strength to strength. It is the one weekend where we can open our home and invite visitors to taste the special Pinot Noirs that we grow onsite.  We love meeting so many new friends and welcoming previous friends back to our little slice of paradise.

Harvest was on Easter Tuesday with a record low of 300kg, which doesn't make for too many bottles of Pinot to fill the cellar with!  After the 2019 bushfires we accept there are good years and not so good years and you can't win them all.  It just make the anticipation for the next years crop grow even more.

We will strive to have a few more updates here in 2023.  Most of the yearly happenings can be found on our Facebook page where updates and posts are much easier and quicker than website domains and hosting thingamajigs.
